The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 promises a wealth of innovations and advancements. Here’s what’s new on the latest model of this all-American workhorse.
More Power
The model’s base-trim engine gained a significant power boost — it now delivers 20 percent more torque, propelling the Silverado to the top of its class for standard torque. Thanks to that power, it can deliver a 9,500-pound towing capacity when properly configured. The 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel dynamo also gained a significant jump in towing capacity. It now maxes out at 13,300 pounds, an increase of 4,000 pounds compared to its predecessor.
Built for Adventure
The brand-new flagship ZR2 trim level offers unmatched off-road capability. It comes equipped with a specialized set of unique skid plates, custom-tuned springs, front and rear e-lockers, and Multimatic dampers for even more suspension travel compared to other Silverado models. It even boasts an exclusive off-road chassis and Terrain Mode, which enables you to tackle rock crawling with just one pedal.
More Style and Technology
On the LT trim and higher, you’ll find a fully redesigned interior, complete with premium materials and a stunning 13.4-inch-diagonal color touch screen. The Silverado also gained the Chevy Safety Assist bundle standard on all updated trims, while the High Country trim gained available Super Cruise™ hands-free driving technology.
