How to Keep Your Car Cool This Summer

Summer

Even as temperatures rise to uncomfortably hot, there are still ways to keep your car cool. Direct sunlight is a large part of what heats up the inside of a car, so learning tricks to keep your car out of the sun will help you stay cool all season.

Cover the Seats and Steering Wheel

Every surface of a car’s interior can become uncomfortably hot from the sun’s summer rays. Leather surfaces are especially hot to the touch. You can avoid this pain all together by keeping blankets or towels in your back seat and using them to cover surfaces like seats and the steering wheel when your car is parked.

Park in the Shade

If you can keep your car out of direct sunlight, you’ll be able to keep its interior temperature down. When you want a cool car to return to after a long day, finding a shady parking spot is worth the effort.

Use a Sunshade

Sometimes there isn’t any shade around when you’re about to park your vehicle — that’s when a sunshade comes in handy. Sunshades fit across the inside of the windshield, shading the front seats from the sun, and in some case reflecting the rays to keep the interior as cool as possible.

Country Concert 2019

If you love summertime and country music, there’s an upcoming local festival you don’t want to miss. Country Concert 2019 is happening on July 11-13 in Fort Loramie, Ohio. This family owned and operated country music festival had its first year in 1981, and has been booking killer country lineups since then.

Country Concert 2019 has several must-see headliners joining for this year’s festivities. On Thursday, July 11, Kid Rock will end the night, after performers like Kip Moore and Carly Pearce. Friday night, on July 12, guests can rock out with headliners Gary Allen and Chris Stapleton. Dustin Lynch and Thomas Rhett will end the festival with performances on Saturday, July 13. For a complete lineup and schedule, check out the event’s website.

Besides supplying a summery dose of live country music, Country Concert 2019 is a place to come together with family and friends, and to enjoy camping and good food. The festival grounds accommodate both RV and tent camping, and offer spaces with electric and water sites. Festival goers will find lots of food and drink vendors on the festival grounds. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own drinks, alcohol, and snacks as coolers are welcome on both campgrounds and in the festival grounds.
