Take a Local Day Trip to the Ohio Caverns

Here in Bellefontaine, Ohio, there are lots of fun things to do year-round. If you’re looking to make a day out of exploring incredible sites in nature this winter, be sure to make the short trip to the Ohio Caverns in West Liberty.

A great aspect of exploring these underground caverns is that temperatures stay mild throughout the year, so you can enjoy a break from frigid weather. The Ohio Caverns include more than 2 miles of passageways that have already been surveyed.

During the winter season, you can take the Winter Tour, which features breathtaking views from both the Historic Tour and the Natural Wonder Tour. The roughly 50-minute tour will lead you through a cavern and teach you interesting geological and historical facts.

Above the caverns, you can spend time with your family in the 35-acre park, which features picnic shelters and a playground. You can also stop into the visitor center, containing a gift shop with fossils, rocks and other available souvenirs.

We at Steve Austin’s Auto Group hope you have a memorable day at the Ohio Caverns with your loved ones. Before heading to the caverns or other exciting destinations in the area, visit our service department to get seasonal maintenance for your vehicle.
