Few things are as unpleasant as sitting in a car that’s been baking in the summer sun for hours. Luckily, there are a few simple steps you can take to keep your car cool, no matter how intense the heat is.
visor or sunshade
This is an oldie but a goodie. A simple
sunshade or visor placed over your windshield will work wonders to keep your
car cool. For additional heat protection, lay a sunshade in your rear window.
towel over your steering wheel
Leave a hand towel over your steering wheel
when it’s parked. This little trick should help to keep the temp down so you
don’t have to touch a scalding-hot steering wheel.
If you can snag a spot under a tree or behind
a building, do so. Keeping your car out of direct sunlight is the best way to
keep it cool.
your windows open
Leaving your windows open just a crack can
enhance ventilation and drastically cool down your car. Just make sure that a
hand can’t fit in so you don’t make it easier for car thieves.
We at Steve Austin’s Auto Group hope these tricks help keep your car cool this summer. We invite you to come take a test drive at our dealership and find the vehicle that’s right for you.

Even as temperatures rise to uncomfortably
hot, there are still ways to keep your car cool. Direct sunlight is a large
part of what heats up the inside of a car, so learning tricks to keep your car
out of the sun will help you stay cool all season.
the Seats and Steering Wheel
Every surface of a car’s interior can become
uncomfortably hot from the sun’s summer rays. Leather surfaces are especially
hot to the touch. You can avoid this pain all together by keeping blankets or
towels in your back seat and using them to cover surfaces like seats and the
steering wheel when your car is parked.
If you can keep your car out of direct
sunlight, you’ll be able to keep its interior temperature down. When you want a
cool car to return to after a long day, finding a shady parking spot is worth
Sometimes there isn’t any shade around when
you’re about to park your vehicle — that’s when a sunshade comes in handy.
Sunshades fit across the inside of the windshield, shading the front seats from
the sun, and in some case reflecting the rays to keep the interior as cool as

The durability of carbon fiber is hard to beat. Not only is it amazingly strong and light, but it can be formed into almost any shape imaginable. These features make it one of the most versatile and desirable materials today. GMC recently announced that it will start producing special-edition versions of the Sierra called the GMC CarbonPro™ starting in early June.
The package will be available on the Sierra Denali 1500 and
the Sierra AT4 1500. It will include a CarbonPro bed designed with a unique
carbon fiber composition that delivers best-in-class resistance to dents,
scratches, and corrosion.
“CarbonProis made of the same raw material found in seven-figure super cars and even aerospace applications,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president, Global GMC. “Coupled with offering the world’s first six-function MultiPro tailgate, the 2019 Sierra packs a one-two hauling punch for whatever the situation demands.”
Along with its impeccable durability, the CarbonPro bed will
weight 25-percent less than a traditional steel bed, which equates to about 60
pounds. It also eliminates the need for a bed liner, saving even more weight.
Because of its thin construction, it increases the already class-leading cargo
volume of the Sierra’s bed by 1 cubic foot.
This innovative bed comes with two additional tie-downs in
addition to the 12 standard tie-downs found on the steel beds. It also comes
with indentations in the bed to help keep certain cargo more secure.

Janet Ries, vice president of marketing at Carhartt, said, “This
truck represents a true collaboration of our brands coming together to create a
durable, purpose-built truck for people who not only work hard on the jobsite,
but also live a rugged lifestyle.”
Chevrolet and Carhartt initially worked on the 2017
Silverado 2500HD Carhartt concept together, which they showcased at the 2016
SEMA Show. The concept truck was so popular that they decided to develop the
2021 Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition, which is based on the Silverado
2500 LTZ crew cab.
Inside the truck, there’s a Carhartt-themed interior with
leather-appointed seats that have a unique stitch design along with all-weather
floor liners that have the Carhartt badge.
The truck features the Z71 Off-Road Package that has Hill
Descent Control and skid plates. The exterior comes in the Mosaic Black
Metallic color with Carhartt gold pinstripe details. It also has a soft rollup
tonneau cover and 20-inch wheels with All Terrain tires.
